- Why rent instead of buy?
Manufacturers come out with new GPS models every few months. With rapidly changing
technology, the brand new unit you buy today could soon be obsolete. If you need
navigation assistance only for that once-a-year driving vacation, renting makes
more sense. Also, renting allows you to try a unit out before you buy to make sure
it meets your needs.
- When does the rental period start and end?
Enter as your Start Date the date you plan on leaving on your trip, or the day before
if you are leaving early the next morning. We will deliver the unit to you the day
before your Start Date if we have enough advance notice. The Return Date is the
day you drop it off at an authorized UPS shipping point, such as a UPS Store. Note
that these dates cannot be a weekend or Holiday. There is a 3-day minimum rental.
- Where can I find a copy of your rental policies?
You have a chance to read and accept our rental policies, during checkout. Or you

- How do I receive and return the GPS?
We ship the GPS to you via UPS. There will be a prepaid return label in the box.
After your trip, you can repackage the GPS in the original box, tape up well, and
affix the return label. Drop it off at any authorized UPS shipping point.
- How much does shipping cost?
During checkout, our website will use your zip-code to select the cheapest shipping
option for you, based on your ‘start’ date. Your shipping charge covers
both delivery and return shipping costs. By default we always try to ship UPS Ground,
but based on your start date will automatically offer overnight, 2 & 3 day shipping
when necessary (although it also causes the shipping costs to increase). Feel free
to try different start dates to see the effect it has on the shipping cost. See

- How do I place an order?
Start the process by clicking on any "RENT" button or tab to take you
to the appropriate checkout page. Follow the simple menu screens to let us know
your rental time of interest and your billing and shipping information. We will
deliver the unit to you the day before your Start Date if we have enough advance
notice (we'll call if we don't). After your trip, repackage the GPS in the original
box, affix the provided return label, and drop it off at any authorized UPS shipping
point.
- How do I make a change or cancel my order?
We currently do not have a way for you to make a change online to a previously placed
order. If you need to make a change, send us an email or call. Make sure you get
a confirmation via email that your request was acknowledged.
If we made special inventory arrangements and have made advance deposit arrangements
with you for this special order, this deposit may be forfeited if you cancel. For
obvious reasons, cancellation of an order is not an option once the gear has left
our facility and is on its way to you.
- What is your deposit policy?
When we ship the gear to you, we place a reserve against your credit or debit card
for the amount of the deposit, which won't be more than the retail value of the
rented item. This is called an “authorization” on your account, similar
to a car rental or hotel transaction for instance, and does not show up on your
credit card statement or incur interest charges from your credit card company. It
will, however, affect your available credit (or cash if a debit card). For example,
if you have $3,000 credit available on your credit card, and we put a reserve against
it of $300 to cover the value of the GPS we’re renting to you, you will only
have $2,700 in available credit to use for other purposes during that time.
We usually wait until the gear is returned before we actually charge your credit
card account for the rental fee and any shipping and taxes. The deposit reserve
is automatically released upon its safe and timely return. Additional amounts will
be charged against your card only if items in the rental package are missing, damaged,
or if you are late in dropping it off for return. To review all of our rental policies,
click here. Some special orders – high
volume or of other unusual nature - may require a non-refundable deposit if we have
to make special inventory arrangements to meet your needs. We will immediately contact
you to discuss the matter if such a situation arises.
- How far in advance must I place an order?
Order far enough in advance for us to prepare your order and for UPS to get the
unit to you at least one day before you leave on your trip. We can generally ship
your order within one business day of its receipt; often even the same day you order.

To avoid the possibility of expedited shipping charges from UPS, your order should
be placed as far in advance of your Start Date as practical. This will ensure best
availability, particularly if you want an item in July or August, the busiest time
of the year for us. There are no charges made at the time of reservation, so there
is no "penalty" for an early reservation.
If expedited shipping is required it will be automatically calculated at checkout,
you can also call us at (866) 994-4537 for more information. At certain times, inventory
may not be available for your desired Start Date. If that happens, you will be advised
if your Order cannot be accepted due to prior inventory commitments. Alternative
products or dates or can be discussed with you at that time. Rush shipments may
be available at an additional expedited shipping cost as charged by our carrier;
contact us for special requirements.
- What payment methods do you offer?
Our online shopping cart will accept American Express, Visa, MasterCard and Discover.
Charges made thru our shopping cart are secured and very safe - the card information
is not retained, nor do any individuals, including anyone at our company, have access
to it once entered. You can place credit card orders over the phone if you prefer.

- Do you charge Sales Tax?
We ship from our facility in Arizona. Any shipments to addresses within Arizona
are subject to sales tax, but we do not charge or collect sales tax on orders shipped
to any other state. This policy is of course subject to change as may be required
by any new laws governing Internet sales.

- How do I know I’ll receive my GPS in time
for my trip?
Every effort is made to deliver the GPS Unit to your designated address not later
than the day before your Start Date. Occasionally there are weather delays, or there
is some other problem with UPS service that we cannot control. That's why we give
it a day's cushion to get to you. The best prevention is ordering well in advance.
When we ship, we send you tracking information so you can check into the status
and location of your gear as it make its way to you. There is no charge for the
item if it arrives too late for your trip.
- How do I track my shipment?
If you want to check on or confirm the status of an order prior to shipment, just
contact us and ask any questions – we’ll reply ASAP. When we ship the
order, we’ll email you with the UPS tracking number; you can then go to www.ups.com
and follow its progress en route to your designated delivery address.
- How do I get the GPS back to you?
Easy. Inside our shipping box to you with the GPS is a return label. Re-pack into
this same box if its not too damaged. Remove the old label, re-seal tightly with
strong boxing tape, affix our return label, and then drop off at any authorized
UPS shipping point – including any UPS Store, Mail Boxes Etc or similar store;
a UPS service office; and countless other places.
The shipping is already paid if you use the enclosed label. Just drop it off by
your “Return Date” to avoid any additional rental charges. You are not
responsible for any delays in shipping after you’ve dropped it off.
